Oh.. by the way.. I think you are making an excellent decision. Hubby and I came to Texas [1200 miles from Michigan and family] 27 years ago. We had our little Ford Fiesta, our clothes, one fold out couch to sit and sleep on, a tv, and a hope chest. He stayed with a friend for two weeks until he found a job and I followed with 'all' our worldly possessions loaded on a snowmobile trailer.
At 19 and 20 yrs old it was prolly the best move we ever made getting away from the pressures of family and out on our own. Having a room mate for awhile sure helped when we could split the apt rent 3 ways.
