Ohh, much fun! Can you use them in sentences? :D
Or you could make the phrase "Child of light"!

Indeed, my AIM sn (in my profile) is Latin for "Child of Light" :-)

I wish I remembered enough Latin to put decent sentences together! :)

Ohh! New words have been added!
For some reason "dicere" made me think of the Spanish word "dulces" which means "candies." I had a few years of Spanish quite awhile ago and its funny how those random Spanish words just pop into my head sometimes... it makes me extra curious about the way my brain stores this stuff. =p

Actually, there's also a Latin word "dulcedo" meaning "sweetness", as used in the prayer Salve Regina:Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae,
vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra, salve.
Ad te clamamus, exsules filii Hevae,
ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
in hac lacrimarum valle.

Eia, ergo, advocata nostra, illos tuos
misericordes oculos ad nos converte;
et Iesum, benedictum fructum ventris tui,
nobis post hoc exilium ostende.
O clemens, O pia, O dulcis Virgo Maria.
Yup, that is funny! :) I'm also curious about (& fascinated by) how the brain works (I'm a chess player, a musician, and I like Latin!) so the more I know about it, the better! =)

A Hymn to the Virgin dandydand December 5 2006, 23:59:46 UTC
(Two parts: Large choir in English, small choir in Latin)
Of one that is so fair and bright... (Velut maris stella... / As the star(s) at sea)
Brighter than the day is light... (Parens et puella... / Mother and child)
I cry to thee, thou see to me,
Lady, pray thy Son for me... (Tam pia... / So clean)
That I may come to thee. (Maria!)

All this world was forlorn... (Eva peccatrice... / Eve in sin)
Till our Lord was he born... (De te genetrice. / Fell away from you)
With ave it went away
Darkest night, and comes the day... (Salutis... / Salvation)
The well springeth out of thee. (Virtutis. / Virtue)

Sicut cervus desiderat ad fontes aquarum, ita desiderat anima mea ad te, Deus.

As the deer longs for running water, so my soul thirsts for you, my God. (Listen here)
