A sad day indeed....

I don't think I was prepared to wake up to the devastating news about Kylie's diagnoses of breast cancer. I always believed my idols to be immortal, today has proved me wrong. Whilst I'm fully confident she will make a full recovery I can help but be deeply saddened by the news. Knowing she's home with her family in Australia certainly brings some ( Read more... )

Did you know that the corporate giant you apparently so hate, the one that is rife with consumerism, is a strong supporter of the Susan G. Komen Breat Cancer Foundation. More than likely, Kylie will make a full recovery through the treatments that the Komen Foundation helped pioneer.

Are you like Ronald McDonald or something? Whilst I respect your opinions I wish you would not see my journal as a soap box for you to piss over. I doubt you know a lot about my opinions on many subjects, and my brief comment left in a community is not a full picture of who I am and what I stand for. I invited you to comment in the community and you obviously declined which is of course up to you, but don't come into MY journal make snide comments. I won't bow down to emotional battering from a Ronald McDonald fanatic, I'm NOT loving it.

Whilst I have not researched McDonalds charitable givings, and do not doubt what you say, Do you not feel that mcDonalds are morraly obliged to support organisations that research health. After all are McDonalds and many other fast food chains partly responsible for increasing health issues, cancer being one of them, through their menu.

McDonalds may support charities that no doubt through research are able to help many people, but perhapse as an organistaion they are damaging many more in other more complex ways?

Sad news indeed.

The positives must be looked at from the situation. Having the bravery to go public about such a personal and private medical situation may allow for many many more younger women to have raised awareness of breast cancer. Although a cure may still be a long way off, education and awareness go a long way in the battle of fighting cancer.
