Well, that wasn't as horrible as I expected from the trailer. I really did enjoy bits of that.
I really do have to say that I'm loving Martha more and more - while I didn't really enjoy the story itself, I did love the Doctor and Martha interplay - at least when he wasn't going on about Rose. I mean, seriously - I liked Rose enough myself, but can we put a stop to the shippiness now?
I did like the whole idea behind it, of words being so powerful... and I thought Shakespeare himself was fairly entertaining. I'm just not so sure why the whole thing left me so generally meh... perhaps I'll like it better on a second watch.
I'm interested to see what my flist makes of the race politics bit, though... I know some people were wondering how they'd approach the Martha thing in the show, but confronting it and then waving it off was not what I was expecting. And I did think Martha's line bringing it up sounded kind of clumsy - particularly noticeable in an episode all about the power of words.
The Harry Potter references made me LOL. Okay, not really - but I was laughing inside, which with me is about as good as it gets. I imagine some will be upset, though, particularly using a reference like that in the climax. And I also didn't mind the constant "you can use that" joke.
I was interested to learn that the head witch chick was Christina Cole, though. I thought she looked hotfamiliar.
