I think that very powerful critisim, that I don't really see too much reason for.
While he does push forwards Marxism as step to far (which does seem a little strawman) he goes on to embrace the Chinise inclusion of traditional medicines into their univserites and hospitals as having shown great benificial results.
I'll read it again and consider strawmen everywhere.
PS to that... A lecturer during my degree who taught me for two modules loved Feyerabend, and made us write an essay (a load of computer science students this is... madness ;) )using his 'principal of proliferation'.
I think Malcolm was on that course, and can easily be prevailed upon to do a rant about it.
Anyway, this lecturer wore a cagoule at all times, outdoors and in, and was a very alarming figure as a result.
Actually he taught me for three courses. The one I'd forgotten was called 'Deviant logics'. And one sensible one on formal methods. I think he'd written a book on that to make some money to support all his crazy shit. Gotta respect that.
