Yeah, things are ok, I'm just havin one of those moments where you look back on what you've achieved and what you've been driving for for years and realising that I still haven't accomplished anything that's actually important to me.
Besides, how can I be unhappy with the pleasure of your 'company' my dear...
I miss old times too but things change and people move on. Sod that being responsible crap go out and have fun do things like drive half way across the country on a weekend to see an old friend, or Make some time to write your book. Unless you make time to do all the things you want, life will just bumble along without you noticing. This is why I
Things change mate but people generally don't and letting life get in the way of seeing those friends is what I'm talkin about. I'm not sure I really want to travel the world, well, not certainly alone anyhow- and neither do I want writing to be my job because then it won't be fun anymore- therefore there's no extended break or sabbatical I can take. I've just got to make time. In short- something else is gona have to give in my life I guess...
And don't let this moment get swept under the carpet, I know only too well how if you don't be firm and book time for yourself, then it never quite happens. So go for it. Take an evening or a weekend and power into the novel. Come and visit - I'll take you into Oxford and feed you icecream and show off all the wonderful junk to be seen in the Pitt Rivers museum. Or we could disappear into the wilds of Oxfordshire and see the white horse, or go punting on the Thames.
It's only an hour and a half to get to us, and the door is always open. Don't forget!
But seriously, the door is always open. It doesn't have to be for a weekend, pop in one evening on your way past from a highflying meeting in somewhere else. And just so you know, the next few months are looking remarkably free at the moment. So come on down, the time is right!
Aaaah! Sympathetic noises hon <<>> Life has been pretty heavy on you of late. Take some time for yourself, stuff working so hard to make other people happy (I mean, heck, you're an absolute star, it'll happen anyway :). Clovenhoof's right, if you're ever going to do it, now's the time.
Whatever happened to the plan to take a week's holiday, get out of the city and start writing? Ok, maybe a week isn't completely realistic, but a long weekend, a weekend just to get started. You told me once you had a dream to be published at 25. You can do it, if you let yourself and stop worrying about being 'irresponsible'.
And remember, I always just 'round the corner if you need tea-and-sympathy.
I guess I forgot about that plan what with everything. Think you're right, think it's time for a little break.
Have to do tea soon (maybe early next week or something) as I think I'm going to be out of town this weekend- there's a man I've got to see about some inspiration...
It's all so cliched but if you don't grab your dreams, they will fade and you should do. Don't put anything off, you'll only regret it. As they say if you take the chance at least you will never say what if?...
