That was the most heartstopping game I've ever seen, especially in those last few ridiculously agonizing minutes. But damn, it sure was totally awesome. I kept changing the channel because the whole thing was stressful to watch. A lot of the good moments also seemed to happen at the times I turned away, so in true Internet geek fashion, I kept up

1. The Dubya family connotations.
2. Chris Simms.
3. For a brief time, I had a roommate who went to UT, and she would amuse herself by screaming "TEXAS! TEXAS! YEEEHAAAW!" at the top of her lungs. Usually when I was trying to sleep. God, she was annoying.
Also, I'm just bitter because BOTH of my alma maters lost their bowl games. Although, I never thought I'd live to see the day Rutgers made it to a bowl game, so perhaps I shouldn't complain.
Anyway, congrats! ;-)

I don't know anything about Chris Simms except that he was a Longhorn back in the day. Like I said, I'm not a football person. ;)
Lord, I could see how your roommate would be annoying. It's said that if you shout out "TEXAS! TEXAS!" on campus, somebody will answer back with "YEEEHAAAW!" But I've never seen anybody do that randomly unless it was part of a cheer or something. :P
Congrats to Rutgers for at least making it to a bowl game! The score was pretty darn close, so maybe y'all can have your vengeance next time. :)

Ah, yes, I remember that! It was like a little blue teardrop in a sea of blood. ;-)

He grew up in north Jersey, and he was a big shot QB in high school. But when asked if he'd consider going to Rutgers (the state school, Div. I, and desparate to hang on to Jersey talent), he dissed us royally. Not that he was wrong to actually want to be on a good college team, but that's no reason to be a complete jackass about it. So I was pleased that he spent so much time as a backup at Texas. Stupid spoiled brat. :-P

Hmm...in retrospect, it's possible she may have been prompting me to reply "YEEEHAAAW!," and I just didn't catch on. I'm not fluent in Texan. ;-)

this always happens to me too. i'll be watching a lakers game and they'd get down by 10-15 points and i'd switch away, and when i switch back i see they've scored 10 points in a row and the game is somewhat close again. and then of course as soon as i start watching the game again the other team goes on a run. ::shakes fist::
