Mazel tov on the master class feedback!

Perhaps in five to eight years, they'll allow openly gay people into the President's Own, too. Currently they're banned, though I don't know how stringently that's enforced.

Yeah, but that's the Episcopalians, who are practically a wholly owned subsidiary of the Great Homosexual ConspiracyTM. I mean, okay, my perception of this may be shaped by people I know who go to Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, but... are there any straight Episcopalians ( ... )

You absolutely could get the opening if you worked your butt off, or you could go for the opportunity in 5-8 years, and absolutely could get that as well. The auditions are competitive, and it shows in the quality of the group. A bassoonist that used to go here, Sandy Johnson, plays with them now I think.
