I have come to the inevitable conclusion that I need to get my ass off the internet for a bit. Thanks to Snowpocalypse 2008, I've been snowed in and have barely left the house in over a week. My trip to New Seasons for groceries today (usually a 15 minute bus ride each way) took four hours, including all the time I spent standing out in the cold ( Read more... )

I feel your pain. To add to the despair, our satellite dish was covered in snow on Sunday night and stopped working. Talk about overkill for that cabin fever feeling.

I think I would go insane. We killed a whole lot of time by getting completely addicted to Big Love right before the storm started. We had the 1st season from Netflix and then the 2nd season on iTunes, watched through our AppleTV. We finished season 2 last night, and season 3 isn't available on DVD or iTunes yet. I think we could get it OnDemand through Comcast, except we don't have HBO. I'm thisclose to calling and subscribing just so we can watch the rest. Also, I'm on book 4 of the Twilight series. That's how desperate I am.

Someone was nice enough to get me season 1 of Boston Legal for xmas. I only started watching later on in the show and became hooked. If I wasn't flying out for xmas vacation, I'd definitely enjoy that while I'm stuck indoors.

Sheesh, another storm hitting this area later tonight. :(

Yep. Portland is supposed to get another 3-5" overnight. We've already got close to 18" with waist high drifts in a lot of places. Every time I see one of the very few plows the city has, I really want to go knock on the driver's window and tell them they're only making it worse. They don't really plow so much as pack the snow down into a solid sheet of ice.

I'm glad we had no plans to go anywhere. We're just staying home together for Giftmas. I get the feeling that come Thursday morning we'll be having an Anne of Green Gables marathon. I got all excited about the box set at Costco, and then AJ disappeared for half an hour. The next morning, there was a new gift under the tree. She's really good at getting stuff I'll love, not so good at being sneaky about it.
