Apparently, I am really more introverted than I realized, because I am doing a terrible job telling people that Z and I are getting married next summer. We're going to have the wedding in NM on June 13th at a nearby ski hill.
Because Z has 3 groomspeople (although now down to 2 since one will be in China next summer), I have asked alandd, slinkr, and fj as my bridespeople. There might be some issues with two of them getting to the wedding, due to circumstances not under anyone's control, so I have Mrs. Slinkerton and my brother as backups.
I find the wedding planning...interesting. Anyone who isn't married tells us we are starting too early with the planning. Anyone who is married is appalled by our lack of planning. We didn't have a ring for the first few months, so I found the planning really freaky. Now that we have the ring, we're finally making progress. We actually had the venue before the ring and they have a catering service, so the big piece is in place. The whole thing is going to be pretty casual -- picnic tables, buffet, iPod dance party, no theme, no matching bridesmaids drones, no limos. We're planning on bringing the outdoor fish with us as part of the centerpieces.

The ring is a Heinrich|Denzel white gold band with seven Canadian, no-conflict diamonds.
All I have to wear are these shoes. I still have not found a dress, and am still debating about making my own dress.
Because I am considering making my dress, Z wants to make something, too. Here's Z's first attempt at the cake. Unfortunately, it looked better than it tasted. Fortunately, he has seven more months to work on it.
