True enough, but having a normal, decent politician with an earnest desire to make this country a better place is a spectacularly good thing to have happen after what has happened the last eight years. I feel more relief than joy, but I think there's cause for celebration.
Obama has authority, and he uses it effectively, I think. We each face decisions daily, of whether to be a dick or a good person, whether to be lazy or hard-working, every day, and I think that a President's words can have a subtle but important effect.
Still, the fact that the left allowed and joined in the Clinton bashing got us in this mess, and I hope they don't repeat that. But I have a feeling people are going to have bigger problems.
I think you're right on about the relief and a president's having a subtle but important effect. Actually, you're also right on about the having bigger problems too. Thanks PF, your perspective is often really quite helpful. :->
