“It’s almost 7, it’s almost 7!!!!” Riley told Sophie, as she was practically jumping around the flat clutching one of Sophie’s (hidden away until recently) stuffed animals. A giraffe named Gandi. She just hadn’t had the heart to throw them away, they were childhood memories and deserved better than that.
“I know, I know. It’s the only thing you’ve talked about like for the last week.” Sophie told her, as she plotted a way to get Gandi back. The poor thing was getting a small beating, since Riley was holding him by the throat and as mentioned earlier jumping around the flat.
“How can you not be excited. This is series 3 of Doctor Who, or if you want to get technical series 29 and the red button thingy was brilliant. This series will so be batting a thousand.” Riley told her, as she stopped in front of Sophie who was sitting in a chair with her book (Still The DaVinci Code) and Sophie snatched back Gandi as Riley looked at her with perplexed eyes.
“I’ve just never been a big Dr. Who fan. It is a children’s show, you know. Or at least it started out, that way. Why are you so obsessed about it? Does Tegan have something to do with this?” Sophie asked her, as she started to recall that her neighbor had once or twice talked about the BBC show.
“It’s not just for kids, lots of adults enjoy it as well. And so what if she did? So, what if we spent a few nights having a Dr. Who marathon watching her series 1 and 2 DVD’s followed by the Torchwood series 1 DVD’s, as well?” Riley told her, as she kinda looked away innocently and away from the brit.
She didn’t know she’d enjoy this sort of stuff, she kinda of enjoyed Battlestar Galactica but she had been watching that for shallow reasons. The new Battlestar Galactica where Starbuck is a woman and Caprica Six looks scarily much like Tegan. But besides that, she hadn’t been a big fan of Sci-Fi stuff.
“I am so going to kill her. She’s not the one who has to live you and your new Dr. Who obsession, is it going to be like this every Saturday now?” Sophie asked her, as she stood up to go and put away Gandi with the rest of her stuffed animals (a knitted bunny called Buffy and a unnamed worn-out Gorilla).
“Don’t kill her, I would have found out eventually. It’s not like I’m the only who had been going insane this last week. Have you seen the media lately? And yeah, if that’s a problem I’ll just go over to Tegan’s place and watch it there.” Riley told her, pouting and making a motion to head for the door.
“Well, I think that would be best. You two can squee all you want like the fangirls you are, and I can read my book in peace and quiet.” Sophie told her, as she returned from the bedroom and kinda regretted saying that as she saw the hurt look on Riley’s face. Figures that Riley would pick up the one British thing that Sophie couldn’t stand.
“Well, I’ll just go then. I’ll be back later, maybe. I think there’s a Confidential after it. Your no fun.” Riley told her, as she grabbed her bag and jacket even though her jacket wasn’t really needed as she was only going next door but you never know.
