Prompt: prompt 37-devotee
Warnings: Umh. Nothing really, unless you have something against a same sex relationship.
Rating: PG (because I found a bit disturbing meaning for this weeks prompt. Heh.)
Summary: Failure in communication can be hilarious...depending on the person it happens with.
Author's note: I don't know them. They just popped into my head and were all hey, we're perfect for this prompt. Write about us arguing about it and our weird cat named Devil. But I do hope you enjoy it, because I enjoyed writing them. :)

"Devotee? Do you mean like those people who have a fetish towards people who have lost limbs?" Kat asked Lindsey, as they entered their place late one night. Devil greeted them with a stern look before leaving the room in a huff, the cat having been annoyed at having to stay in for the last week since it had been recovering from a operation.
"What? No, eww. What have you been reading?" Lindsey asked her, as she took of her jacket and hung it up in a closet in the hallway like always. Practically routine by now, which kinda bothered Kat since she always just threw her coat and purse on the couch in the living room before going to the kitchen for something to drink or eat but she probably should be used to it by now.
"Not reading, watching. Dexter. It's been on Showtime. Pretty disturbing, but very riveting stuff as well. But that doesn't matter, if you don't mean it like that, then what do you mean?" Kat asked her, as she filled Devil's food bowl and put fresh water in her water bowl.
"I meant like fans. Serious fans. I don't see how you can get something twisted like that from a word like devotee." The red head told her girlfriend, who had her head in the fridge looking for something to eat. Kat happened to have a very healthy appetite, but still kept her girlish figure with little or no exercise which annoyed the hell out of her two older sisters.
"Oh. Well, you would have known that as well if you hadn't fallen asleep last night." Kat told her, before she bit into an apple and closed the fridge. She had no idea what the apple had been doing in the fridge, and not just in a bowl with the rest of the fruits but it was crisp and nice.
"Well, excuse me but I was tired and have you not noticed how damn comfortable our couch is?" Lindsey asked her, as they moved into the room which held said couch and had at the moment Devil lounging on it in a ray of light that slipped through the thick purple curtains.
"I know it's comfortable, it was my couch before we moved in together. It's why I bought it." Kat told her, as she shushed the cat of it and tried her best to brush away the cat hairs before sitting down and pulling her feet underneath herself. "Maybe it's too comfy if you can't sit in it without falling asleep. Maybe it's time for a new one." Kat tells her, as she fished for the remote on the coffee table in front of them.
"I was just tired, it happens and isn't there a re-run of that show anyways?" Lindsey asked her, as the Tv was turned on and Kat got a grin on her face. "What? Why do you have that look on your face?" The red head asked Kat, who looked like a cat that ate the canary.
"Better than a re-run. TiVo. You forget that? We just got it last week and you've been gone far too much this last week." Kat told her pouting, as she fiddled with the remote control and up popped a menu-thing and there was the Dexter episode ready and waiting.
"Great. You seem to be a devotee of this show." Lindsey told her, as she sank into the before mentioned comfy couch and petted Devil who had leaped back up onto the couch and was purring at the attention she was getting. If only she knew what the name meant, she would probably not be amused.
"Not really, I just caught one episode and got sucked into it. But I am a devotee of yours. Wait, did that even make sense? Doesn't matter, you get my point." Kat told her, as she grinned at the red head and leaned over to give her a kiss before Devil meowed because the petting had stopped and she was feeling ignored. Such a bossy cat, no wonder she was named Devil.
