i think we are the only two people in the universe of livejournal who are interested in rocks with stripes. are you actually interested in striped rocks or in a specific kind of stripes?! are you for real?

We celebrate pi day at school. we actually eat pie and measure the circumferences of the pies and the angles of pie slices it's ridiculously nerdy.

Hi!
I am definitely for real. :)
I am a geologist, and I am interested in many different kinds of rocks, but I have liked rocks with stripes since I was little. I used to pick them up and line the floor of my mother's car with them. (I also tend to notice rocks with holes in them and heart-shaped rocks.) I like it when different layers of material make a rock striped, or when the two (or more) kinds of rock that make up a striped rock weather differently, so that some of the stripes stick out and others are more eaten away. There are a lot of rocks in my garden that I have picked up all over the place. Some people go to souvenir shops, I pick up rocks and dirt. :)

I love pi day as well, and other things that are ridiculously nerdy.
