If I had known what Carmilla had in mind, would I still have joined with her? If I had seen the villages devoid of life, the graveyards no longer in use, the castles overrun with weeds, would I have accepted her embrace? I made a promise when she offered me life eternal by her side that I would love her until the end of time. Now I wonder why it was that she offered me the chance, when all others have been left to rot, bodies bloodless. How could I have known?
Or perhaps, I think to myself when she feeds, how could I have not known?
