In Spain, in my hotel room, awake for my midnight snack (always need one when I crash out at 6pm after one of these trips).

Some snafu's needing worked out still, but we're all here, our equipment is all here, and I have yet to be hit on the head by any bits of sky.

Any chance you have any brilliant ideas on finding places to stay in Amsterdam? the VVV doesn't seem to have anything, unless we're missing it. Also, karenbynight and I will need to figure out our sunday night through thursday night plans.

Amsterdam does seem booked solid, that weekend. The nearest hotels I can find are in Utrecht, which *is* pretty close because you're right next to the train station, and it's only a 25 minute trip by intercity train to Amsterdam Central Station. Try here:
