We got evacuated about an hour ago because of a tornado warning. Fortunately, we didn't have to stay long. But, I think the disasters are following me. We went to one of the buildings on the base. I was almost banished to the kids area, because one part of the building was a bar and they thought I was a teenager.

I hope you sidled up to the bar and ordered a stiff gin and tonic.

Nope, no drinks. I have no idea what a gin and tonic would do to me. I've only had beer and half a cup of champagne in my entire life.

Well, that's a relief.

Really? Wow! My father had a walk-in bar when I was growing up. We would help ourselves ;-)
For me, a stiff drink in the face of an impending storm would be considered soothing! I can drink several with no apparent effect. So I tend to not drink very much at all *g*

Yeah, you definitely need a Mast of Disaster icon. LOL!
I don't suppose there's a better place to be than on a base, though. They must have the best shelters for miles, and at least you're not going to be waiting around for help this time. *g*
How long do you guys expect to be living there? Do they by any chance have a library??

Transportation is a number one priority. Not just job-wise, but for your own mental health. You'll end up agoraphobic if you're too isolated for too long.
(Unless it's your choice to be agoraphobic. In which case whee! More power to you and your wacky, anti-social neurosis! We celebrate people's differences with wild abandon!)
