Well, I have something worth posting. It seems I'm related in some way to - wait for it - Snoop Dogg. I'm just not sure what to say. The connection seems to be through his dad, and some of the same names are popping up. My mom says they're all related in some way, so I apparently have a famous relative. Really? OMG wait until I tell the girls at school!!! Heee! I doubt so many of them will know about William the C. though *g* - just a select group of historians, perhaps!

I've always wanted to find out about my family history, but never in a billion years would I have figured I had any connection to Snoop Dogg. Yeah, tell people that you know someone who's related to someone famous;)

My mom is horrified, though.

Well of course you are because you're just that cool!

So, are you doing this all through family memories and records, or are you doing real genealogical research? I wouldn't think William the Conquerer's name would be scwarled in the family bible or anything. ;)

BTW - what happened to you at TWoP? Were you banned at some point? I was researching something recently and came across old posts of ours, and your name was bolded.

Well, my mom owns a piece of land (like a really small piece that she's never even seen) in Mississippi, along with the whole extended family on her dad's side, and someone wants to sell it and give everyone their share, so they're taking it to court and my mom got an official document with all the owners listed and they're all family. So, I plugged in some names and the town and found someone else had done research and wrote a page about it and they found the William the Conquerer link, but they say it's not totally confirmed ( ... )

Hey, that's pretty cool! I think - I mean, at least he's famous. And rich, right? ;D

Thus far my only claim to dubious fame is on my mother's side where I'm distantly related to the Younger Brothers - a criminal shoot-'em-up element along the lines of Jesse James and his band. Same time period too. ;)

Supposedly on The Spousal Unit's side there's a relation to Marilyn Monroe. *ack*! ;)
