Month of Love: 1,2,3 (Feb 12th)

Feb 12, 2009 00:05

Vala walked the cold hallways, her toes freezing as she padded towards the commissary. Stupid Daniel and his stupid ideas. Stupid Ori. Grabbing her pint of Chubby Hubby out of the freezer she plotted the familiar path to Daniel’s office where he was still awake and reading.

Gently nudging Daniel’s arm out of the way, Vala inched as close as she could before resting her chin against his shoulder. The position was awkward, but it allowed him to keep reading his dusty book, and her to think of other things besides death and violence. And to focus on eating her ice cream.

“Is there a reason you’re in my lap?” Daniel asked, turning the page but allowing her to sit nonetheless.

“I had a dream. Of the melting flesh variety.” She admitted, “Just ignore me.”

Daniel put the book on top of his knees and sighed. She had bought him the recliner for his birthday (his actual one), so she figured he wouldn’t kick her out. Sam said she was enabling him, but he liked staying up into the ‘wee hours’ or whatever wee meant, so Vala figured he would like the gift.

“Okay.” Daniel smiled sarcastically, shifting her over so she could lean against his chest. He then placed the book in her lap and continued reading. The bastard. Huffing as loudly as possible, she grabbed the blanket off the bookshelf next to the chair and wrapped her legs up before he got too much further.

Pulling the extra spoon from behind her ear, she shoved a spoonful into his mouth.

He gave her a weird look, but ate the ice cream. And then he dared to put his spoon in the carton.

“Blasphemer.” Vala growled, shooing his spoon away from the carton. “Mr. Ben and Jerry would not approve of you eating my ice cream.” They both knew that she did the stealing and he did the- the- putting-it-back-ing.

Challenge accepted, he slowly placed the book on the shelf before maneuvering his spoon into her ice cream. However, Vala Mal Doran was always thinking on her feet, and she swallowed the creamy substance before he had the chance to get it to his mouth.

They wrestled in his lap for a few minutes, but he eventually had both spoons and her arms secured away from the ice cream. He was a cheater, that Daniel Jackson. Just as she was about to use a well-placed kick to his thigh, he leaned forward and kissed her.

One of those movie-quality, heart-stopping numbers that literally left her a little dizzy.

“I win.” He grinned, feeding her a spoonful of ice cream. Great now it was all melted and gross. Vala took the carton from him and dropped it on the floor. Daniel made a little disgusted face and Vala had to grab his face to keep his focus.

“If you seriously think I still want the ice cream, then you really are wonko.” Vala leaned forward and pulled the handle for the recliner. There was no way Daniel was getting away with a measly kiss to steal her ice cream. And now it was ruined- she needed retribution of some sort.
