Anyone!

Why is this suddenly happening?

Anytime I edit text - meaning go back and start typing before/after old text, the new text REPLACES the old text and will not let me insert anything without erasing old type. WHY???

Oh computer genius friend, please tell me how to fix this!

(this is Microsft Word for Mac OSX)

it sounds like you pressed "insert" on your keyboard by accident; just hit that key again.

i just fixed it.
it's a preference selection - called "overtype" - one must UNSELECT IT!

why are you home?
