My rule for naming children is, "If you can't find it on a license plate in a gift shop, don't put it on a birth certificate."

Really, it is. Do you know how many kids I've seen start sobbing because "Deztinii" or whatever isn't on a damn ornament?

Also, I'm with the name "Simon."

I could never find my name on any of those gift shop things and it's a fairly common shortening for girls.

More of a pain, a more lasting one, than getting teased, I think, will be people misspelling or mispronouncing Simeon (as Simon or Simian or Simone). It's one of those names that is almost exactly like another, much more common name.

On the teasing front, a kid might ask him if he's a Sim from Sim City who speaks Simlish. But he should obviously make friends with that kid, so whatever?

also, i will back up nathan's statement by saying that no matter what the child's name is, unless he's what nathan calls a social hub, he will get made fun of anyway by other kids. you can be named "josh" & get mercilessly mocked.

that said, i also think prince is a good name.

I think Simon or Jonathan would be good names too. I kind of just made Anthony up on the spot, although I like it.

I think YOU-la-lie sounds too much like eulogy (with all due respect to your grandmother). I like you-LAY-lie or you-LAY-lia better.
