erm, well microsoft had some unethical practices before (think browser war and refusing to sell to hardware manufacturers unless they bought all microsoft), but they're not terribly evil. Although their recent product offerings have improved, I'm still hard pressed to find anyone with a decent argument that Windows/Office/etc have some serious shortfalls. Have you ever tried reinstalling Windows? It's like playing with fire, trying like hell to get firewalls and virus protection before you get slammed by blaster and all sorts of bugs.

But Walmart is evil. Sure, prices are cheap. But the cost is small business and workers. When you fire employees to prevent unions, lock them in at night, refuse to pay for medical insurance so that the government has to pick it up, and fail to pay competitive wages, yes there's a problem. Tt isn't us that's affected...it's the people who have to work at Walmart.

interesting tidbit: if walmart was a separate country, it'd be China's 7th largest trading partner
