[Background]
History of the nation!

[Personality]
He’s a very kind person once you get to know him. He’ll give you a big bright smile the second you meet him. So long as you’re cooperative of him, he’ll treat you with hospitality and friendliness. Denmark is open minded. He loves to get along with people and learn new things about them, namely new cultures and customs from differing nations. He doesn’t believe in a certain set of rules or a certain way of living. He lives the way he lives and thinks everyone else should too, so he respects people from all aspects of life and is curious about their journey there. He doesn’t discriminate in the least; anything is fine by him so long as you have a strong belief in it! Something like that is very hard to come by, and Denmark knows it.

So he’s arrogant. Sometimes, or most of the time, he thinks other people should look up to him as an older brother figure. Although his intentions are well, he is pushy and doesn’t really know the meaning of the word ‘no’. Friends can expect that an awful lot, and enemies would be easily exhausted by Denmark’s arrogance. He’d never give up a fight for the sake of his pride. The image he wants to set as the big, strong, respected older brother is too important to him to give up. And he takes this a step further.

Even when dealing with the people he cares the most about, he wants to exert control over anyone he can. You can say it’s like taking “making friends” to an extreme. It’s something of a safe place for him, to know that he has friends that will back him up and whom he never has to fight with. Of course, this is rarely the case, as most take this as aggressiveness, and they wouldn’t be wrong. He can very well hurt his friends in this process. But he would regret it almost immediately afterward. In a sense, he is aware that his actions are aggressive, but he feels strongly about being right and believes that should be good enough.

In a nutshell, Denmark feels strongly about anything he participates in. He can be relaxed and calm sometimes-but it is rare. From fishing to making friends, he will see through his point is made in the end.

Strengths: He is very open minded, very strong physically, and very accepting and forgiving. Fishing is his forte.

Weaknesses: Easily, how bossy he is. Denmark, despite his usual friendliness, lover to exert control over others and it becomes his downfall because the results are always the same. He is somewhat susceptible to past scars in his life, any mention of them (from the wrong person) brings him down and he goes quiet. And lastly, he can’t deny anything from his little brothers, Norway and Iceland.

When it comes to his hobbies-things he generally loves to do and things he generally doesn’t wanna see there are a few!

Likes: Denmark loves smørrebrød or open sandwiches. They’re a main course in his diet and he could eat a thousand of ‘em. He loves Christmas! One of his main hobbies is bicycling. He’ll bicycle just about anywhere, no matter how far or how close. Architecture is also a big part of his lifestyle; whether it’s making furniture or buildings-designing household things and households themselves is something he has a talent for.

Dislikes: Denmark dislikes stuff that’s too unnatural, like drinks that are too artificially sweetened. He hates sitting around with no one around. And not having anything to do. He also hates discussing things that generally uproot his stability, he can handle topics that aren’t to his liking but he sure isn’t happy discussing them.

[Abilities]
Denmark isn’t a magical guy. Really, the only thing to be wary of would be his physical strength. He can swing around a solid, heavy axe that’s just about as tall-if not taller-- than he is. He was once a country of large built Viking explorers made to withstand the harshness of Mother Nature and the ocean within her. He maintained Norway, Iceland, Finland and Sweden all at once and continues to attempt to assert control so it’s no surprise he’s surprisingly strong. Not abnormally, just incredibly strong.

[Sample post]
[First Person]
Wha’? H-Huh? Wai-Hang on, hang on! [ Lots and lots of static coming out the other end of the phone the Dane is holding. He looks half confused and half angry because he’s confused. He’s tapping, or hitting the side of the phone as though it’ll magically fix, but soon decides that moving into a clearer area is better. He tries again. ]
Hello? Yea-Nor! Heh, hey, sorr’ bout that; my phone seems to h’ave got a bit a’ static in this place.
Hm? Nah, I can hear ya’ jus’ fine. Anyway, this’s a big surprise! Ya’ don’t usually call me, Norge. Ahhh, but I know yer busy most of the time so I don’t blame ya’, don’t worry. [ If you didn’t know any better, you would think this guy was talking to himself. The man on the other line was certainly there, however. ]
Anyway, how are ya’? Ah-Yer sick?! That’s no good, Norge! Ya’ gotta lay down, are ya’ layin’ down? Oh, haha, well that’s good then. D’ya want me ta’ bring anythin’ over for ya’? Aw, c’mon, m’not too far away y’know. Huh? I didn’t hear tha-Oh! Hah, see? Ya’ do want somethin’! I’ll be right there then. [ Click. And grinning like an idiot, the Dane makes his way out the door. ]

[Third Person]
A bright blue sky with bright blue waters. If you were flipped upside down you might not be able to tell the difference between the two. Their colors complimented each other perfectly and the one could see the other in its eyes. You could see them both in his eyes. The man on the small boat moving steadily along the waters. The boat was small, but sturdy. The man had always loved the boat when he was little. His father built it just for him when he was a child and he sailed the heck outta the thing. It was a surprise it wasn’t busted up by now, but Denmark would always cherish the things that meant a lot to him. His friends would accompany him on these trips; they could sail for hours, chatting, fishing. As he sat on the boat now, he ran his hand along its rim and smiled with some regret, “Feh, that’s tha’ one thing I don’t like a’bout you, y’know. ‘Ve taken me far enough in my ol’ days, but now ya’ can’t fit everyone! What’s th’fun in fishin’ alone, eh? S’boring.”

But he continued to sail anyway, the fish already caught and in a bucket next to him. He looked at the things as they breathed their last breath. Denmark was caught up in his thoughts though; he couldn’t keep out of his head when he was out here in the vast, blue waters. He thought of the people waiting back home for these fish and shot up in enthusiasm, “Ah! S’right. Can’t keep ‘em waitin’!” And as if the wind was answering his enthusiasm, it pushed him further and faster. It wasn’t long before he hit shore and gathered his things; with a big grin on his face he carried the sack of fish. “Heh, gotta make sure t’leave some fer Ice and Norge, though, of course.”

[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] Denmark’s very friendly, I’ve been playing him for awhile and I absolutely adore him. I’m hoping he makes a lot of friends over his stay at Somarium.
[Which rule was your favorite and why?]
No AUs and/or original characters. Both are sort of uncomfortable for me so I am glad we can all play our own individual character without worry of a clone, per se.
[Any questions?]
Nope!
