Not that anyone cares...MLB Jersey pricing, one man's wasted hour.

I was looking at Detroit Tigers jerseys, thinking it might be time to replace the Higginson jersey that my brother gave me almost 10 years ago (I'm pretty sure it was shortly after they signed him to that anchor of a contract).  Anyway, I was initially shocked that the road jersey costs $75 more than the home jersey. That is a big ol' mess on LJ, but it's okay on Posterous.

Economy of scale is important in stuff like this. Textbooks cost a lot of money not because publishers are trying to bilk students, but because there's relatively little demand for textbooks over, say, Stephen King novels. So the whole overhead cost of producing the textbook gets distributed amongst fewer consumers, and the price is high.

I know it's a mess. Not sure how to fix it at this point, because a Posterous-specific CSS doesn't work on LJ. I might just cut it all out and link to the Posterous page.

For what it's worth, I don't think you should retire the Higgy jersey as long as it's still in good shape. He was a career Tiger, and it marks you as a fan that didn't jump on the bandwagon in 2006.

It is in good shape. I really only wear it once a year, maybe twice if they make the playoffs.

I guess I didn't mean retire as much as add to. But the bandwagon impression was why I was hesitant about Verlander or Zumaya (even though I have both on my roto team, and will for quite some time).
