Tomorrow morning at the crack of dawn I'll leave my flat and cross this big and magnificent capital of ours, East to West in almost its entire length, to get to Heathrow a couple of hours later;
From there I'll cross this big and magnificent continent of ours, West to East in almost its entire length, to land in Moscow a few hours later;
A few days later I'll get onto a train and cross that big and magnificent country of theirs, West to East in almost its entire length, through the Urals and Siberia, and then further East into Mongolia and China[1], to arrive in Beijing around 10 days later;
A couple more days and I'll get onto a plane and cross that big and magnificent continent of theirs, East to West in almost its entire length, and then further West to land in Heathrow several hours later;
By which point, crossing this big and magnificent capital of ours, West to East in almost its entire length to get home in Leytonstone will certainly no longer seem such a big a journey to make after all.
What this means to YOU: As I have no idea whether my mobile phone will work while I'm out there, nor how often (if at all) I'll be able to check my email, it may well be that I won't be contactable for the next couple of weeks. If you've got something to say that REALLY cannot wait till I'm back try send me an email or a text, knowing that I cannot promise if or when I'll read it and/or I'll be able to reply. Over and out.
[1] stopping off in various places along the way.
