I really can't handle cubicle life much longer before I lose my temper and composure and completely go off.

Sometimes it is all just too much, isn't it?

Seriously. The fact that I just have no way to get away from it just drives me nuts. I may attempt to sneak into an empty office to work for a while this afternoon.

I do that from time to time, but people still feel they need to talk to me about nothing. I just try not to answer or only talk in 1 word sentences.

I haven't even downloaded my pictures yet, but will get some up soon

There's no alternative, though. It's impractical to have enclosed cells for everyone.

Does your office have white noise? They pump in this noise above us that makes a huge difference here for sounds carrying across the floor. Even with that and my privacy cube I can still hear everyone around me but it does make things a little less crazy in here.

What kind of noise is it? I hear the air vents but that's about it. A lot of it though is that people talk too loudly and too much and have their cell phones ringing and shout down the hallway. Oh and of course the guy who never picks up his phone but only talks on speakerphone.

It sounds like a fan but louder or kind of like radio static but not nearly as annoying and distracting as that seems. I thought it was air vent noise at first until someone told me what it actually is. Sometimes it stops for whatever reason and when it first starts back up it sounds like static from a radio or TV but then it just blends in and you don't notice it.

For the most part people here are very quiet, at least there is no loud yelling or speakerphone use. And technically we are not allowed to use our cell phones at work but no one really sticks to that rule.
