I loved the Harry Potter series. :) I don't know if I would have enjoyed the movies as much if I hadn't read the books first. I'm sure I would have enjoyed the movies, anyway, but it was kind of magical (no pun intended) to see the characters come alive on screen.

I'm told the first one is like a children's book, so don't judge the whole series by it . . . so I hope it's at least okay for me to get through. Despite my LOVE of Wizard of Oz, I'm not a big fantasy fan.

Honestly if there's too much build up, you won't like it. Because things are never as good as someone makes them out to be. So no one talk to her about Harry Potter, evar!

I have one book ahead of my challenge book and then I am off to read Family Outing by Chastity Bono.

I'm almost finished with High Fidelity so I'm debating if I'm going to start Harry Potter or finish Rue or Under the Volcano first . . .

How is/was High Fidelity? Never read any Nick Hornby, but being a bit of a music snob and a fan of the film, I don't doubt I'd enjoy it.

Never read Me Talk Pretty One Day all the way through, but on my hs speech team one kid did the story "Go Carolina"; it was hilarious.

High Fidelity was really good. Quick read, much better than the movie. He goes much more in depth about music than in the movie.

I'm on Harry Potter right now but about to finish that. Debating if my next move is going to be the next Sedaris book or Rue.
