phargle and tsiar were over to meet the twins yesterday when I got news that Mo Waldon had passed away.  Sad, but the news was realistically coming sooner than later.  She turned 91 about 9 days ago.  I fly out Friday to go help Mom with the funeral, be a bastion of sanity amongst her family, and ultimately help her load up and drive back some things she wants ( Read more... )

My xbox may be on the way out. The disc drive is refusing to recognize, and therefore read, discs without me ejecting and closing the tray about half a dozen times. If it were still under warranty I might think about sending it in for repairs, but seeing as I've been looking for an excuse to upgrade it for a while that's just what I may do. I ( Read more... )

Vacation, enemy of posting.  The roadtrip with the babies went great.  We lit out for Carl-Bad Monday before last with one small stop for baby feeding and changing in the parking lot of a Peter Piper Pizza.  Other than that stop the twins were quiet and sleeping for the whole trip.  The next day was filled with visitors coming to see the newborns, ( Read more... )

This quiet is somewhat overwhelming.  Carrie said the kids have been real mellow all day.  Not to begrudge it, but it kind of makes one nervous, like it's giving you too much space to think about why it's so still all of a sudden.  I'm sure the feeling will be with us forever now.

We learned early that Owen and Paige sleeping in our room wasn't going to work. Nor was having a baby monitor in the same room where both of us were sleeping. I had a great idea for a post at 3am this morning while holding Owen, who had decided that a well fed baby doesn't really need sleep just that someone hold him lest he begin with the crying again to reming them of the fact.
