haven't seen pi... bit i hate few movies more than requiem for a dream, so i've kinda boycotted that guy.

i tend not to rent crazy-complex-mind-fuck movies though. i have an awful time following plots...

The only way this post could have possibly been better was if the 'very special episode' had been the one with Arnold, the bike shop, and the King Neptune game.

Bravo, sir.

i don't remember that one, actually.

sometimes when my stupid debt becomes too overbearing, i think about the episode of what's happening where re-run gets a credit card and doesn't really think through how it works, and just sort spends money all day long till he gets caught. i'd imagine that's how AES/PHEAA sees my college/graduate education...

It's all so odd, since I discovered Syd Barrett a few months ago, and it always seems that when I really get into someone, they either die, or something major happens in their career.

I enjoyed your narrative. Very empathizable.

Also....I've always fantasized about the idea of back-roading, never realizing it was called anything but "illegal".
And you are definitely not alone in the idea of not going to prom...I'd never go. There's no one I'd want to go with, the music is far too loud, and it's just not my scene.
Your dad is hilarious.

if the time hasn't past (and if it hasn't you might literally be the youngest person on my FList), i'd go to the prom. i mean, i don't really regret not going, but it'd be good for a laugh, and it's an excuse to make a big deal out of something, which in retrospect is more fun than i gave it credit for at the time. mostly though, i sorta feel bad for my parents. i can imagine my aunts and uncles asking about my prom and them having to admit they have a weird kid that wasn't going, and i'm sort of upset that i put them through that, more than a dozen years later...
