these dudes need to find themselves some GIRLS.

seriously though, i could watch soulja boy-related youtube all day. search "crank dat," you won't regret it.

2008 went better than expected. it was certainly the most broke-a$$ year of my adult life, but otherwise i could have done worse. i got my work on a few gallery walls (and i'll ring in the ( Read more... )

i love the nonchalance of it. and that it got enough hits to merit spin-offs (i.e. it's now listed as the original crank dat urkel dance).

We pretty much have similar goals to tackle (or at least briskly shove). 30 books isn't anything to shake a stick at though. I'm barely in that range if count The NewYorker and botanical books. I didn't even read any of the Obama books. However, my netflix intake was at an all time high, possibly due to the lack of date-night-movie-funds.

The art stuff sounds like a good plan. Can fussy be fast?
I'm 82.5% sure I'll see you at the opening. I'm also painting some rooms in my mama's house that following weekend. I have an M.F.A.!

i didn't even watch many movies this year. saw a few good ones though (definitely add the new hou film to your netflix - flight of the red balloon). as for art, it's technical problems first and foremost. i'm planning on cutting out the exact-o knife time that keeps me from being inventive. trying to eliminate extraneous craft for a while to produce more. i'm sure i'll come back to collage though. also, i feel like i can get messy with acrylic on canvas in a way that i can't when things are eventually being separated by little sheets of paper.

and please do come to the opening. i think erin might come down too (her and robert were over for NYE). maybe some other NYC folks (but probably not). and i've supplemented my income ALL YEAR with house painting, so i know what that's like. i don't feel so bad about it though. i'm definitely in a much better place psychologically than i was on a 9-5 schedule.

I like your art work; good luck with your 'shake-up' endeavors. I've never counted the number of books I've read in a year, but even thirty sounds ambitious. I would like to add you as a friend.
