Ow.

So after several hours in the emergency room yesterday, the conclusion is that I have either an ovarian cyst or a kidney stone. Got to love when you pay $100 for them to guess at what you might have when you'd already narrowed it down to those two things already.

On the plus side, I found out I'm not pregnant. :-P

Blimey! They couldn't figure out which one you had? How primitive.
Spent just yesterday getting chastised by big loathsome mental health guys that I needed to get more medical care, when in fact it seems medical care is in the fuggin' dark ages, so why should it matter?
I hope you're not in pain and am glad you're not pregnant, as you were so clear about Dante being the only offspring you want. And I hope SOMEONE can figure out which condition you have, as there are herbal and nutritional treatments and precautions that would be VERY DIFFERENT if you had a cyst or a stone. (I happen to know more about the stones, as a friend had one.)

Thanks. I'm pretty sure, myself, that it's a cyst, which very well may resolve all on its own. But you can bet that if I feel the slightest twinge next month around this time, I'm SO calling the doctor immediately and saying "Book me in for an ultrasound! Now! Before it gets any worse!" Apparently, with certain kinds of cysts, you can get them to clear up by taking birth control pills for a few months, which, while not ideal, sounds like a small price to pay.

Of the two... I guess one would choose kidney stone. Got to love it when the best of your options is a kidney stone. :( I hope some resolution of said not-truly-resolved diagnosis is in sight!

*wishes you future healthy non-preganancy*

Thanks! I'm feeling a bit better today - not perfect, but better. It's possible it will resolve all on its own, so I'll keep hoping that's what happens. But sheesh, what a drag.

*hugs*

sounds painful. :( I hate the emergency room. Everytime I go I vow never to go again unless I have no choice. It almost always feels like a waste of time for me.

I hope you get this resolved and feel better soon. :)

Thanks - it's better today. I hate the ER, too, and for the same reason - it almost always seems like a waste of time and energy, when I've gone. The last time I went it was to get a stupid tetanus shot, because my doctor's office couldn't squeeze me in and they thought I shouldn't wait the whole weekend (because of course these things always happen on Friday afternoons, LOL.)
