General anesthesia and associated facility charges when your clinical status or underlying medical condition requires that dental procedures be rendered in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center. This applies only if (a) the insured person is less than seven years old, (b) the insured person is developmentally disabled, (c) the insured person's health is compromised and general anesthesia is medically necessary or (d) the insured person has suffered extensive facial or dental trauma. Charges for the dental procedure itself, including professional fees of a dentist, are not covered.
