.....but I'm feeling a strong calling to, after teaching for a year or two post-college-graduation, attend grad school in New York City and try to involve myself in the off-Broadway theatre world as a pianist, drummer, and/or musical director/conductor.

I think everyone who goes to school for music feels that way. I'd say just make sure if you find a good job teaching that you don't just give it up because you wanna go to grad school in New York.
