Writer's Block: My Biggest Environmental Pet Peeve

"Do gooders" not allowing people to go in and clear out dead wood from the forests, therefore, allowing tinder to gather and our forests to burn hotter and faster.

That makes no sense. Much of the dead wood you speak of is probably rotting and wet, therefore not providing very good tinder. Things need dead stuff to live.

I makes perfect sense if you live in the West, have worked for the Forest Service, and even fought a forest fire. True, my observation is based on my
own experience, so who's to say rather it is the same everywhere.
