I teared up reading this. It breaks my heart to know that there are still so many kids who are growing up with the thought that they are alone in growing up gay. But this video project also gives me hope. Being a midwestern gay, I should definitely make a video to share.

I read this earlier today on a friend's lj and had to repost. I just get so sad reading this and realizing that this stuff still happens. And the fact that people are saying really homophobic and disrespectful just blows my mind. Someone is dead, dead, someone who was still so young and now he's gone and you're going to go write shitty things on his memorial page. People are such fucking douchebags.

Sad. Unfortunately, for a lot of these kids, it WON'T get better, and that's sad too. Especially if they keep living in these rural areas once they grow up for whatever reason they need to. The world is not any kinder to gay adults than it is to gay kids...and even worse in some respects. Which makes me want to hit somebody ( ... )
