I feel I'm in a really interesting time in my life right now. I haven't updated this thing in forever, so here's a bunch of rambling stuff thats been on my mind lately. i apologize if it doesn't make any sense to you. it barely makes sense to me

glad to hear you're finding your groove up there. it took me a long time to figure out what san diego was about for me; i'm really only enjoying it right this year. i told you moving away from home would teach you a lot about yourself. it's about time you became as outgoing in public as you are with your friends. getting out of your comfort zone can be great sometimes. and now i have a friend to show me around up there when i finally make the NW roadtrip i've been talking about for years, hopefully that'll happen next summer/fall!

why the fuck would you drive to black rock and back? couldn't you just hitch a ride from seattle to burning man, and then one from there to san diego?

I had similar experiences when I moved from San Diego to NYC. I'm so glad to hear your move is helping you expand your horizons.

The thing with Burning Man is that you just have to figure out your place in the madness. I didn't dress up at all when I went out there, it's not my style to do so. My focus was more on providing service, leaving no trace, and immersing myself in the vibe on the playa. After I returned, I needed about a week to process everything. In fact, I didn't even talk for about two days after I returned from the playa. It's a profound experience that will change you, if you let it.

My one suggestion: be careful with drug use. The vibe on the playa can completely change and radically intensify drug experiences-- especially for first-timers. I took a hit of X one night and ended up having a profoundly negative experience. This is something that hasn't happened in, like, 10 years or more with me and X. So, just be careful.

I'm so excited you're going. I think you'll have an amazing time.
