Oh. Wow. I adored this. I love how they're all twisted up in each other, how she doesn't know how to be her if he isn't him, how you show their connection without making them dependent or weak. All the little things they know about each other, and how no matter how they try to mess things up, they keep saving each other.

I also really love the flow of your prose; I think Kara would think like this, all "and"s and long sentences and just the constant tumbling from one thing to another.

Anyway, this was just all-around lovely and poignant, and I loved it.

Thanks so much! It's always such a relief to get the first comment -- and you liked it! Yays!

Yes, that's exactly what it's about! I'm so glad that comes through. I really think they need each other, not in a sexual way or a codependent way, but because of how well they know each other and how well they work together and how they can play together and hit each other and say things they can't say to anyone else.

BTW, I saw you posted a new fic today too - so excited! Now that I'm done with this I can go read it!

>i>30. How the air changes when someone you love walks into the room

oh, I can't breathe... this was beautiful, all the pain Kara has that she won't admit to herself, the palpable longing, the things she sees about Lee that no one else seems to.

and, finally, the very familiarity of their life-and-death flying that breaks the ice and brings them back to each other.

thank you!

Thanks for commenting! I'm glad you liked that line - I was afraid it was too un-Kara-like. But the point is kind of that she's supposed to be totally embarrassed about it, so hopefully it works on that level... Anyhow, I'm really glad you liked the story.

Ok... I'm crying here, because you have them both dead to rights and you're showing how frakked up they are and how much they both care and can't tell each other and Kara's so miserable alone and the letter and he got it and... and... and...

/burbling dribbling mess

I *loved* this. So much. Just. So. Much.

Writing's a very odd business because in it you're really excited when you make someone cry.

Thank you!

If there's anything more beautiful than K/L angst, it's K/L partnership. This is so utterly right, in Kara's head, and very bittersweet and real...

... and I want more K/L! *grins at you*

Beautiful, Daph! *hugs*

Thanks so much!

...you always want more K/L!

*pokes* when's there going to be more "Eris and Aurora," anyway?

working on it now. The pilots are being stubborn about sex, for some reason.

Sheesh, you try to *help* somebody - even fictional characters! - and look where it gets you!

I still hate Lee/Dualla. We've both written it now but it doesn't make it any better, dammit. Someone write Daph and me some joyous pilot!love? PLEASE?
