OMG Daph. Just...

You rock. And you know what I like most about this - other than the fact that I'm pretty sure Lee and Kara have lists in their heads about what they should and shouldn't do with regards to each other, so this is so right! - is this:

much as she relies on his devotion, she also relies on that small measure of his hate, and if he stops hating her then she might have to as well, and she isn’t even close to ready for that.

Glad you liked that line, I was kind of proud of it. And I have to confess that sekritly I want to be Kara, even though she is totally frakked up. Because she kicks so much ass. And inspires me to do push ups.

And I am a total sucker for list-fics, even though this is kind of my first.

AWWWWWW. Lovely and sweet. And this:

but after they climb out of their machines he gives her a look of pure hunger. It’s a look that means he’s never felt anything like that before, which she knows because she hasn’t, either.

in conjunction with this:

he says “Kara” the way a man in the desert says “water” and it occurs to her that maybe she’s his home, too.

SO HOT.

And all of #8, just so perfect and horribly sad and true, that they're so not ready to be the ones in charge, and that they would just be there together... LOVE.

Thanks so much! And your new fic is really awesome, but I think I told you that already.

#8 is one of my favorites. Even though really this was all about me wallowing in the shmoop where usually I am deeply suspicious of my tendencies in that direction.

And in truth the whole thing was kind of born when I was rambling on your blog and said that Kara's always thought of Lee as hers and that stuck in my brain.
