Doctor Who - The Last of the Time Lords

Here's my reaction to the episode.

I didn't really like this. It was just so meh. I loved The Sound of Drums, and this was a disappointing second parter.

Martha was pretty damn awesome, but she always is. Her outfit looks really good on her too. Martha saving the day with the help of Tom was great. I love her standing up to the Doctor and leaving him! She was so strong and empowered. I love Martha! Hopefully, she'll be back for Series 4 if not in every episode, in many of the episodes.

Was Jack even in this episode? They barely gave him anything to do. Why did they put Captain Jack in Doctor Who if they aren't going to give him something to do? Also, I really can't stand the Tenth Doctor when it comes to the way he treats Jack. Nine abandoning Jack, even with the reasons Ten gave, never sat well with me, but at least Nine and Jack were friends. In the last few episode and this one, Ten hasn't been really treating Jack as a friend. It seems like the Doctor tolerates Jack, and that's it. Also, the Face of Boe thing just didn't work for me. I guess in a way it could be left as sort of open ended though because if the writers decide to never pick it up again, they could just dismiss it as a coincidence or as a joke.

The Master is still a cool villian, and I'm annoyed that they "killed" him. I don't think he's really dead though, or even if he is, I don't doubt that the writers will bring him back eventually. It's like the Daleks or the Cybermen. They're major villians, and I don't think they'll ever really go away. The Master dying in the Doctor's arms was one of the only good things. Also, the Doctor wanting to keep the Master in the Tardis was oddly sweet in a sort of creepy way. The Master/The Doctor adventures could have been fun though! And the Master loves dance music!

The Doctor didn't really do much in this episode either, so I don't really have much reaction to him, except for what I said in the last paragraph.

The plot was really meh, and I really don't have much to say about it.

Overall, this episode barely scrapes by with a C minus, in my opinion. What a way to end series 3! Here's to hoping that the Doomed Voyage will be better. The Tardis as the iceberg was creative, and I liked the Doctor's reaction.
