While Daphne had said she needed a warm bed and tea, she quickly realized it was wine and her friends she needed. She had never been one to spend a night alone or go to bed early. The thought of missing out on something would keep her awake in bed for hours anyway. Over the last few weeks she had seen little of her house mates outside of class

Daniel Harper had not been seen lately through out Hogwarts. Perhaps he was sleeping more? Perhaps his depression became more unmanageable during the winter months. Never the less he entered the well candle lit Slytherin Common Room. He held clenched tightly to his fist a copy of ‘Quidditch Through the Ages’.

Harper scanned the Slytherin Common Room from wall to wall. As the fire burned and crackled in the brick made fireplace he noticed Daphne and Astoria in what appeared sharing a bottle that look rather expensive.

“Ay Daphne!” he bellowed in the direction of the two young girls. Giving them his utmost attention.

The Greengrass girls looked up at the same time. Astoria looked rather annoyed at the rude disturbance. Daphne, on the other hand, was used to Daniel by now.

"Evening," she greeted. She smiled from ear to ear, feeling nicer than usual. It could have been how relaxed Terry kept her or the glass of wine in her hands. Either way, she was happy to see a fellow fifth year.

It was a well known fact that the Greengrass girls came from wealth, a higher status and prestige. Where as, the Harpers came from budgeting, middle class and making ends meat. However, Daniel still was a Slytherin and a pureblood Slytherin after all.

As he entered the Common Room, he gingerly tossed his book across a table without giving it a second thought. It made the sound of a 'clash' as it knocked over a vase filled with flowers, shattering it and turned it over. Daniel did not care to look over his shoulder at the mayhem that was unleashed behind him.

Casually walking the direction of the Greengrass girl’s he flashed and ear to ear smile and spoke, “What are you two ladies getting into tonight? Tell me what’s good?”

After giving the girls his utmost attention Harper then looked up for a brief moment at his other House mates.

Daphne's smile faltered as Daniel carelessly made a mess of the common room. The vase that broke scattered tiny glass fragments across the plush carpeting.

"Really Daniel, we were enjoying the quiet," she said, reaching for her wand. Daphne flicked her wrist and the glass pieces rose and pulled themselves back together.

"If you promise not to break it, I'll pour you a glass of my new favorite white wine."
