The days seemed to stretch on forever. Every since the night of the attack Daphne hadn't been sleeping well. She would toss and turn, roused awake by nightmares. The long nights made the days and hours feel even longer. It was a struggle not to floo herself to Terry's, apologize and beg for him to forgive her. But she had to remember she did what

Daphne,
I understand that you're sorry but it doesn't change how I feel. I love you Daph, and I don't care who knows. I thought you didn't care either, but you clearly haven't picked your side. I'll wait until you do, but I can't wait forever. it's too painful

You have to understand this isn't easy. They're my family but I refuse to go along with whatever they have in store. It's too terrible.
I was wrong to leave you in the dark. I love you.

I do understand. But the world doesn't. People died that day. You were ripped out of my arms. There's a lot more to this than just you and I, but ultimately... Well, it feels like you are choosing. For the both of us.
Can't I just see you? Why does it have to be like this?

I do want to see you...my father is watching me more closely now. I'm afraid he'll track to the Floo if I visit you.
Can we meet at Riah's party this weekend? We can sneak away if you want. But meet me there.

She had been feeling funny since the party at Riley's. Seeing Draco there was... something. Not something that surprised her, of course, she just forgot what it was like to be so close to him. Then, with the way Pansy was acting- well, that put her in more then a bind.
A bird flew close to the veranda and made an insanely loud chirping noise causing Cecilia to fall from the chair she was sitting on.
"Blimey bloody birds," she scowled, before picking herself up and going in search of Daphne.

"Ceccy, there you are!" she said, running into her right inside the french double doors that led outside. She did her best to keep herself together, pushing thoughts of Terry from her mind.
"Lunch should be ready in just another minute or two. Are you hungry?"

She offered her friend a rueful smile before re-fixing herself on the chair. She kept her feet planted firmly on the ground this time. She then looked at her best friend. Daphne looking consistently incredible was something Cecilia was just used to.
"So, how are things?" she asked. "I feel like I'm absolutely out of the loop on everything."

"Things have felt crazier than usual," she told her honestly, settling into her own chair.
It felt normal having Cecilia there again, though. She was one of the few people that kept Daphne grounded.
"I've been slightly preoccupied with....Terry," she said, trailing off. There was very little reason hidding it. Cecilia and Pansy had noticed Daphne's lack of presence towards the end of the term. And as much as they tried to keep it a secret, their stolen glances in class didn't go unnoticed either.
