It took me a while to understand the last one, and when I did, it floored me. I wonder how much harassment I am missing because I don't hear it.

The last one is the thing I have tried so many times to explain to men in my life, and failed. My entire world changes back and forth and they will never ever see because theirs doesn't, it's no different whether they're alone or with others. And when I woke up and saw it a haiku, it was was the most satisfying.

I kind of wish that women could go around recording the harassment they face for a while, video if possible, and compile them. I don't think reenactments are as effective as actually seeing it happen for real.

I think you're right, about your hearing being protection. I've been happy about all the street phone use, for a similar reason--even if I'm not wearing headphones (which I don't, in public places...another "security measure" I take intuitively) I can always pretend I am. My hair covers my ears, people can't tell for sure. In the last 5 years, I think it's become an easier default assumption for guys to think "oh, she just didn't hear me, she's probably on the phone/listening to music" and it's less obvious that "she's ignoring me."

Can you unscreen this one so I can point people here- or alternatively can I repost?
