So, early today I was peeling potatoes for a Turkey Shepherd's Pie (which came out beautifully, by the way).  All of a sudden a British girl's voice burst into my head, saying, "Peeling potatoes?"

I was understandably confused.

Then later I was trying to think of who this British girl was, and the sentence elongated to "Peeling potatoes?  How could I ( Read more... )

I love random brain tangents like that. It makes me think that the universe is a wonderful little place to be.

And I have so seen that version. I've seen every version of that movie.

For the past week or so I was trying desperately to remember what Snape says in A Very Potter Musical about how "a portkey can be any seemingly harmless object, like... a ______, or a dolphin," because every time I tried to quote it it fell flat because I couldn't remember the word. Driving to work today, I burst out, "Football!" I was quite relieved.

Btw, Jess I loveloveLOVE your icon. Omg Dr. Horrible ftw >.<

Something similar happened to me yesterday - I was in Barnes & Noble with my mother, and I was like "OH we should get this book I saw!! It had like, 10 or 12 different authors and they all wrote this book together or something. And it was about a camera. And the cover was a dark color and it was hardback and I think the title was like one word and one of the authors was David Almond and.....FUCK" and I could come up with every single thing about this book except for what the hell it was called. We searched forever and even the woman working there couldn't find it for us with Google and Barnes & Noble.com and everything else. D:

But my mom is a ninja and found it and it is called Click and I cannot wait to read it!

Ohhhhhhhhhh, the same thing happened to me one time! Isn't it infuriating?

All I remembered was that it was about a girl taking a bunch of sheep to California, and she met a cowboy named Clay. And this was before I had the internet, so my google-fu was weak and wimpy. It had been bothering me for (no joke) about a year, when a friend of mine called to tell me about this AWESOME book she read, about a girl who took two thousand sheep to California, and the cowboy named Clay she met along the way... apparently it was called "Walking up a Rainbow," which I would NEVER have remembered.

Hey, if Click is good, let me know! It sounds really interesting.
