I'm watching slow motion videos done by this team of British fellas, and this week's was breaking a TV with a hammer. While the video itself is awesome, I learned something about pronunciation with a British accent. See, when Gavino says "shows you how quickly glass cracks,' the "A" in "glass" and "cracks" are pronounced differently. On this side ( Read more... )

Most English people pronounce a lot of that stuff differently, but I pronounce both the same. o/ They'd also pronounce father and cat differently, but for me they're the same. However, English people pronounce bird, herd and curd the same and I pronounce all three differently. Accents are fun things.

Yes, my more northerly friends mock me for saying "glarss" rather than "glass" :D
