Some events have occurred in life worth noting in my journal, so time for an update.

In scanning over my last few entries, I’ve noticed I slacked off on the commuting updates, but am happy to say not the commuting itself. I’m still managing about 3 rides a week, especially with the great weather we’ve been having. In anticipation of the inevitable ( Read more... )

Its almost a relief to know I'm not alone with this fustrating behaviour of setting a personal goal of losing weight - then finding my own formula that works and the weight is coming off and while I am advancing steadily towards my goal, I am increasingly afraid of the time when I would fall off the program and all the weight would overnight reappear. And that stressful thinking leads to reaching for old comfort food and old eating habits. Self defeating. Discouraging. All because I AM succeeding. Will someone please help me help my stupid self?

Maybe we can help each other? Do you still need help?

I always need help :-)

I find that for me to overcome my fears and move forward, it's recognizing them for what they are and how they affect me that is key. Once I've done that I find it's easier to give myself permission to feel the fear and get past it. I think the 'why' of what I'm doing also plays a part - is it to look good, is it for health, is it for personal gratification? Reminding myself of the 'why' helps me to look at the big picture again and put things into perspective.

Talking about it and figuring it out helps me greatly. How can I help you?
