Very cool that you got Evanescence tickets. I was hoping to get Muse tickets this year, but unfortunately i missed out. Maybe next time...

I have seen the original Italian Job, so i'm not too sure i want to see the new one. If i do though, i have to go in with a clear mind. I'd probably only go and see it for Ed Nortan to be honest. He's awesome.

Ed Norton is awesome, I agree. You may disagree when you see the movie, but I thought he looked bored throuought. He needs bigger challenges than this! (Have you seen 25th Hour? I haven't seen it, but am really hoping too soon!)

Muse have sold out already?! Darn it! I was going to get tickets to see them after seeing Evanescence. Guess that one's off the menu. *sulk*

Evanesence! *envy*

Biggest geek=no. Cause I'd love to study all those things, too. (Maybe we tie for biggest geek?)

Italian Job -- *shrug* Well, I liked it. But then, give me a car chase and a heist somewhere in a movie, and I'll probably enjoy it, especially if Seth Green and Jason Statham are anywhere nearby.

O Brother -- Love this film. I really liked how they did the colors.

Princess Bride -- Love this one, too.

Rear Window -- My favorite Hitchcock film. I've probably seen it 8 or 10 times.

The other ones, I haven't seen. Sounds like you're enjoying your DVD rentals more than the ones you see in theatres! Is Underworld out there yet? Cause I saw that on Wednesday, and it's not the best movie ever, but again with the colors. And she has the coolest coat. And clothes. Leather thing, you know?

So did you find a Netflix-type DVD rental place in the UK? Cause that could be useful information for when I, you know, move there. Eventually. What's in your next shipment?

I'm happy to share co-biggest geekdom with you. *g*

Yup, totally enjoying the DVD rentals the most! It's probably because the DVD rentals are all movies recommended to me by friends, where as in the cinema I'll see whatever is there. For example, no one was ever going to recommend Citizen Verdict to me!! *g*

Underworld was out last week here, I'm quite excited about it: planned on seeing it yesterday, but was a bit too tired to see a 3rd movie that day, and the other two were on their last play. I have 10 movies I want to see in the movies this week, which I'll never manage! :)

Yup, I did find a good Netflix equivalent. It doesn't have 1/4 of the selection Netflix has, nor is it as cheap - but it's been great for me so far, and the customer service is terrific. Just last week I emailed them suggesting they try and get hold of The Princess and The Warrior, and Say Anything to add to their selection. They did it within a few days.

I thought Andre the Giant was so good in The Princess Bride, very gentle, funny. I can watch that movie over and over. It's so great. If you liked Rear Window (which may be my favourite Alfred Hitchcock movie), you might want to try North By Northwest, some very good scenes in it. Cary Grant is as usual, very cool and the Hitchcock blonde.. um, Eva Marie Saint?? is lovely and so classy. :0) Another movie you might want to consider, if you've never seen is To Kill A Mockingbird.... Also try 12 Angry Men, similar setting to Rear Window, well, similar in that it's a closed set, a jury room and great dialogue and a great cast.. Whether you watch the original with Henry Fonda or the remake with Jack Lemmon.

I totally agree about Andre The Giant. He borught such a warmth and humour to the role, suited the movie brilliantly!

Thanks for the recommendations! North By Northwest will be my next Hitchcock movie then! It'll also be my first Cary Grant movie!

Weird dreams lately? Weird dreams all the time!

The Princess Bride is a wonderful film. Definitely in my top five. We have a copy on tape, but it's so old and has a fuzzy picture. I want to buy the DVD some day.

My essay also mentions other Hitchcock films. But I don't think it gives away any of the plots.
