I have a three way tie for favorite movie year - all in the 1970s.

1974
Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore
Blazing Saddles
Chinatown
The Conversation
The Godfather: Part II
Lenny
The Parallax View
Young Frankenstein

1976
All the President's Men
Carrie
Marathon Man
Network
Taxi Driver

1979
All That Jazz
Being There
Breaking Away
Kramer vs Kramer
Life of Brian
Norma Rae

In my opinion, the 70s was the BEST movie decade. The above list doesn't even come close to naming all the great films that were release in that decade.

The 70s movies I've seen:

1971
A Clockwork Orange

1972
The Godfather

1974
The Godfather, Part II

1975
Monty Python And The Holy Grail

1976
The Omen
King Kong

1977
Star Wars

1978
Halloween
Grease
Damien: Omen II

1979
Kramer vs. Kramer
Life Of Brian

Just 12 movies from the 70s. *sigh*

All That Jazz plays on TV a lot though, so I should be able to catch that soon. The rest, for DVD. I've liked the vast majority of those 12 movies anyways! The Omen is awesome, Kramer vs Kramer was wonderful, The Godfather movies naturally rocked. I'm looking forward to seeing more from that year!

"Al-ways look on the bright side of life...."

You should look for the "Monty Python Sings" CD. It's got lots of goodies on it.

I don't really have a favorite movie year.....but then I don't really keep track of what years my favorite movies came from, so. Anyways. You still need to see "Hudson Hawk". Go. Find. Rent. Watch.

Hmm....."Interview With the Vampire". I liked that movie. And I realize I'm about to send every Anne Rice fan in existence into apoplectic fits, but I couldn't stand the book. It was quite possibly the slowest piece of fiction I have ever tried to plow my way through.....and I read a LOT. It was just something about her writing style that drove me absolutely crazy. I think I may be spoiled by all the Mercedes Lackey I read.......

Hee! I noticed, and I added you back. So no, I don't mind. *g* Hiya!

LOL, you really don't like Anne Rice much do you! :p

Don't ever read Silas Marner. *That* was slow. And That Hideous Strength by C.S.Lewis took me over 3 weeks (which is how long library rentals last) so I had to take that back before finishing it. Another slow one.

Ok, Hudson Hawk has just moved up 100 places on my DVD priority list, so unless someone else is keeping it for a while, I should get it next week. :)

Wait...wasn't Frankenstein and maybe even Dracula also '39 films? Surely you've seen them!

I'll lay even money he hasn't! *g* And both are actually 1931.

Daps, my fave movie year....1939! Seriously.

Well, be picky about something as insignificant as that. Hrumph.
Just kidding. *g*
It's what I get for not looking it up.

;) I have specialized knowledge in so few areas, that I feel compelled to use it in the areas in which I do have it. *g*

Your tutorial problem is like mine. If it wasn't for the film tut on Friday I wouldn't even have to come in to university. Except I do because it's a film tut and the only thing I really don't want to miss.

"Blessed are the cheese-makers"

I don't think I have a favourite movie year. Can't really remember the years for most films.

Ok then... here's what to do. Make a list in a notepad of all the films you've seen. Spend and entire night copying and pasting the film titles into IMDB, check the year, and then paste the name into a another notepad that's separated into years. I swear, it's relaxing fun. Ok, perhaps it's not normal people's idea of relaxing fun. *g*

Tell you what, if you make a list of all the films you've seen, and send it to me, I'll organise them all into years for you. I really enjoy doing it, honestly. *g* And then you'll be able to choose your favourite movie year. :p

I don't think I can remember all the films I've seen. I guess I could start with the list of films we have on tape (cut out the few I haven't seen) and try remembering.

But you don't want to waste your time organising them! How many films have you seen?

LOL, I so do wanna waste my time organising them. *g* So much so, I won't even consider it wasting time! :p

The thing is, even if you start making the list, it's next to impossible to remember all the films you've seen - I'm still adding new movies I saw when I was a kid if something reminds me of them. But yes, your video collection would be a good place to start. *g*

I've seen only 555 movies. :) Bet you've seen double that! *g*

I can't believe you know things like 'I have seen 97 movies from 2001'. I can't name one movie I saw from 2001. Although I am sure there were many.

Early starts are evil. I am glad my uni job (which I have yet to restart) does not involve early mornings. Well, technically I guess it does, but at least the early mornings come at the end of the shift, and not the start... *g*

3 hours? Get more sleep, man!!!
