Okay, like faithx5 you MUST see the Blues Brothers. And I am very happy to hear that The Fifth Element is on its way to your DVD player.

*repeated BAPPAGE!!!! for calling LoTR boring*

Interview With the Vampire was an okay movie, not great. Unless you compare it to the book, in which case it is a shining star of glory.

I think you have safely put me off ever reading Anne Rice. It sounds like she's terrible, and if I actually liked her I'd fear your wrath. :p

Yup, Blues Brothers has been on my list for ages, but... people must keep renting it so I'm not having it sent to me yet. Should have it before long. :)

Blues Brothers.
best.car.chase.ever.

And cameos by filmmakers Spielberg (Cook County agent) and Landis (Arab badguy), just to add some more fun.

You havent seen the Rocky Horror Show?????? The Blues Brothers?????? Where have you beeeeeeeen!!?? Living in a well in Greenland!! *slaps head in disbelief* Rent them! Nooooooww!!

Fifth Element is visually magnificent. It has flaws but it's great fun and one I really enjoyed! The Breakfast Club was one of the cult brat pack movies and it's also well worth a look although personally i think it's no where near as good as The Sure Thing, but that may just be because I love John Cusack so much.

Am pleased that you also realise that The Princess Bride is a masterpiece. One of my top 30!! *g*

There are a few lower budget movies you might want to have a little look at when you have time. The Hitcher with Rutgar Hower and C Thomas Howell is great and a no name movie called Mute Witness. Two really fine thrillers.

LOL, that's another two things to put on the "I HAVEN'T SEEN?!?!" list. *g*

Cool, will check out those movies you mention. One of your previous movie recommendations is here at the moment actually, The Great Escape, so I should see that soon. The rest of the movies you recommended to me should start arriving before long as well, I think.

John Cusack does rock doesn't he, and I did really like The Sure Thing. I can't think of a John Cusack movie I haven't liked. Did you like Serendipity? *g*

I havent..should i add it to *my* list? *g*

Can't agree with the comments about Interview With A Vampire. Loved the book when I read it but only quite liked bits of the film. Casting was utterly wrong (although Tom and Brad equitted themselves well enough i think)Armand was all wrong as was Santiago, at least it did not match the imagery I had from teh books. Also the overall tone of the book, the sense of longevity and the emotional undersurrents and passions that stirred these creatures was lost and distorted. Anyway, for me The Vampire Lestat is the best book and it goes downhill after that!

LOL. Umm... I'd be hesitant to recommend Serendipity, unless, like me, you are a total and utter sap and no romantic comedy can be to cheesy or sentimental. Most people that watch it will probably not like the movie, but if you are a) sappy, and b) love John Cusack (and I know you have that last one down *g*) then you'll love it. *g*

Perhaps I got more out of Interview because I hadn't read that book (or any other Anne Rice book with those characters) so wasn't able to see how on or off the casting was. I know that I really liked Tom Cruise in it. :)
