The year so far.

Jan 21, 2004 12:59

I've gone close to three weeks without an update, so that "update more frequently" New Year's Resolution? Pretty much failed miserably. Did anyone miss me? *g*

Ok, I'm about a month late with this, but...
Welcome to LiveJournal bawston48!!!!

No, the room is only reserved on your card, not paid for.

'Twas very strange having you all here.

Manchester is a bit nasty.

I would suggest you get the Semagic client. It allows you to preview entries before posting them, plus it's handy in that you don't have to link through half a dozen pages to be able to update your journal.

Ah, thanks for the recommendation of that client. I'll definitely check that out. Does sound like it'll make things a lot easier! :)

Thanks also for the info about the hotel. That makes sense. I didn't have a clue what was going on when they asked me to pay, having been wrongly convinced that it was all paid for. *g*

Hmmm, maybe it was the aftereffects of Red Bull and Vodka drunk too quick that made the trip home such a downer *g* That and the fact that people suck.

BTW, Chinese New Year is nowabouts. See, not tooooo late. Could be you were just waiting for the year to be All New. Or y'know, not.

Both possible explanations. *g*

As for the Chinese New Year. Thanks! That makes me feel like much less of a procrastinator. :D

Yay for an update!!

Thank you for the welcome! *g* Now I feel official. :)

I actually do find stories about train travel interesting so :P. It's the best way to travel. *g* But I'm sorry about all the Manchester rubbish. Guess I won't hurry to visit there. And what is funny about the name Michael Moore? No wall hair dryer? No wonder you were in a strop. *g* But good shower, that redeems them. Plain hamburger? Not a cheeseburger then? *eg* Sorry, I'm trying to be concise but just sound choppy...

Hey, I've actually been to York, or Jorvik as the Vikings called it. /dorky *g* I went to the Viking museum when I was there and it was really cool, we got to ride around in an automatic cart thing and learn about the history of York, sounds and smells included! *g* Wow, I could have a career in marketing! I just looked for the website for this place (here: http://www.vikingjorvik.com/ and they actually say "...complete with sounds and smells!" *g ( ... )

(*groan*: I started typing up the response to this comment, then after a paragraph or so clicked the Jorvik link, forgetting that would erase the paragraph. Trust me: you've missed a seriously awesome paragraph. :p)

I absolutely can't believe you're in Limbo. But... join me in Level 6! It's party level! And, full of heretics. *g* You can't stick your tongue out about being in limbo. :p Thanks for the re-assurance regarding my evil. :D

So true, regarding the lottery. But, less hard, I would guess. *g*

Oooh, viking museum sounds cool! Next time I'm in Liverpool, I'll allow myself to fall asleep on the train, miss my stop at Manchester, and pop into the Viking Jorvik museum. :)

Choppiness is good. :)

a musical artist: - matthew good band (: canadian band, quite cool, not many people know about them. some songs on kazaa i think everything is automatic is probably the most likely to be found...

Ooh, thanks for the recommendations! :)

I've seen The Quiet American movie, and thought it was fantastic. I'll be sure to check out the book!

Thanks so much for the Matthew Good Band recommendation! I love them! I hadn't heard of them before, but these songs I've just downloaded of theirs are truly fantastic. One of them, Weapon, I'd heard before on the TV or something, and really loved it, but not caught the artist name or song title. Sooo glad I know what it is now. Great stuff: thanks so much!
