Flightplan

I've been planning on seeing loads of movies in the cinema lately, but the wasting days includes not getting to the cinema when I should. Some movies I had wanted to see have gone from cinemas now, unfortunately. I'm especially disappointed to have missed Saw 2. The first one was so excellent, and I have heard that the sequel was really good too ( Read more... )

I liked Flightplan, too. Even though I had an idea who the villain was, just because he often plays that type character. Generally, though, well-done if you don't think about it too much. ;)

I missed The Constant Gardener. :( I really wanted to see it, too. HP was great, of course.

I wondered about him at the start, but it seemed like he was being kind of an obnoxious jerk, so my immediate thought was "they are making him seem like a possible villain, so he probably won't be". A sort of reverse psychology thing. It worked on me anyway. :D

Did you see The Skeleton Key with him in? I was really pleasantly surprised by that movie.

No, I didn't go to Skeleton Key. I'm getting more and more disenchanted with horror as a genre (and I've never liked it much to start with), although I may try Skeleton Key on DVD, because it looked not-too-bad.

He was really, really good in Jarhead, though. Has that come out there yet?

Haven't seen any of those, although Flightplan was on my list of films to see.

Have you seen Serenity?

I certainly have seen Serenity. :D I saw it three times the week it came out, though I was only able to drag 5 people to the cinema to see it over the course of those three times, and I had hoped to get a few more. It was so telling that they all hadn't heard of the movie, didn't think it would be that good, and yet they all absolutely loved it. I so badly wish more people had gone and seen it - it really would have created so many new fans.

Suffice it to say, Serenity is without a doubt my movie of the year. Not just because I liked Firefly, but in its own right it really was just a terrific film... ran us through all the emotions, was so hilarious in parts and so sad in others. God, I loved that movie! :D I really, really hope there's a sequel!

How about you? :)

Oh yes! I've seen it four times in all, and am proud to say I've converted at least five non-believers to the cause ;)

And, yes, I'd have loved it even if I'd never heard of 'Firefly' ... just as my new recruits did :)
